Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly to receive proceeds from 2022 Canal Run

HANCOCK — The 47th annual Canal Run is set for Saturday, July 16, and this year all proceeds from the event will go to Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, a local non-profit volunteer-based organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly.

“Little Brothers has been a well respected and vital part of our community for decades now,” Race Director Angela Luskin said. “We’re really excited to raise money for the incredible work they do for elderly in our community.”

The match is essentially perfect timing for Little Brothers, as the organization is celebrating its 40th year this year.

“We have so many things planned throughout this year to celebrate our history, and this event is a perfect addition to that,” Little Brothers Executive Director Cathy Kass-Aten. “Having the Canal Run choose to partner with us is exciting and humbling for us.”

Canal Run Gives Back has donated $15,000 to non-profit organizations in Michigan’s Copper Country, including donating $5,000 to Omega House in 2021.

Registration is now open for the Canal Run at www.canal.run.
