MTU’s Rozsa Center to hold Rozsa Soiree
Michigan Tech’s Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts announced its upcoming Rozsa Soirée, scheduled for Sept. 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The soirée acts as a launch party for the exciting lineup of performers and events scheduled for the Rozsa’s upcoming season.
The soirée will include a featured artist to provide entertainment for the night, who will be announced on August 1. Tickets will be available to the public beginning on August 6. A general admission ticket will get attendees hors d’oeuvres, a concert, concessions, and more. Festive cocktail attire is welcome.
Space is limited.
The night will begin with a silent auction and a social hour, followed by an exclusive performance from this year’s featured artist. A specially curated selection of hors d’oeuvres will be served.
The Rozsa Soirée is the Rozsa’s only annual fundraiser. All of the proceeds go directly to the Rozsa’s mission of creating a vibrant and connected community through experiences that bring the Keweenaw together. With a mine-themed theater that has over 1,000 seats, the Rozsa Center is a cultural staple in the Keweenaw.
The Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts hosts a variety of captivating shows and events throughout the year, including the Winter Carnival Royalty Competition, Welcome Week comedians, and acrobatic acts. Charlie Berens, the Russian Ballet, and music artist Sinkane have all graced the Rozsa’s theater. It is also the home stage for ten Michigan Tech Music ensembles, Michigan Tech theater productions, and Michigan Tech art exhibitions. The center also acts as a rental venue for community events such as the 41 North Film Festival.
Tickets for upcoming Rozsa events, such as the U.P.rootEDD dance show, can be purchased online at mtu.universitytickets.com. Student tickets are free, while general admission for the public varies in price depending on the event.
