Copper Country Community Band Announces Summer Concert Series

We would also love to chat about the Benefit Concert that we will be doing on Thursday, Aug 28.

Copper Country Community Band Announces Summer Concert Series

The second in a series of five summer concerts presented by the Copper Country Community Band is tonight in Lake Linden. The concert series of concerts across the Keweenaw continues through Sept. 4

Under the direction of Amy Johnson and Micah Erickson, this all-volunteer group of approximately 35 musicians from across the Copper Country will bring audiences a lively mix of marches, classic concert band repertoire, and popular medleys.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. All concerts are free to attend. Donations are gratefully accepted at the concerts, with the concert on Thursday, August 28 specifically going towards the Houghton County Road Commission, to raise funds as they deal with the road failures from the most recent flooding.

The schedule is as follows:

• Thursday, August 14 – Lake Linden Park

• Monday, August 18 – Bethany Baptist Church (Dollar Bay)

• Thursday, August 28 – Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (Chassell)

• Thursday, September 4 – Portage Lake United Church (Houghton)

Now in its third decade of performing, the Copper Country Community Band continues its mission of bringing quality live music to the region. The group is co-directed by Amy Johnson, K-12 music teacher at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area Schools and longtime local musician, and Micah Erickson, band director for Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools and a frequent contributor to regional music and theater groups.

Join us for an evening of great music and community spirit!
