Historian discusses Fitzgerald wreck
Houghton — Join renowned Great Lakes historian Frederick Stonehouse for an evening commemorating fifty years since the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the most famous shipwreck in Great Lakes history. The presentation is 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Michigan Tech’s Memorial Union Ballroom.
Through vivid storytelling and decades of research, Stonehouse brings powerful new insight to the tragedy that continues to define the history and spirit of Lake Superior. His presentation will explore the enduring mysteries of the wreck, the heroism of the crew, and the lessons learned from one of the Great Lakes’ most haunting maritime disasters.
