ORLANDO –The Calumet High School Copper Kings Band, known as the “Pride of the Keweenaw” performed at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Monday.

The band under the direction of Ryan Watt proudly marched down Main Street USA. The visit came about after the Copper Kings submitted an audition from a recent performance to the Imagination Campus at Walt Disney World. The band was selected to march at Magic Kingdom.

The band is supported by the Band Parents organization which hosts fundraisers like apple pie sales and craft show luncheons. The band recently earned an all Division 1 rating at a Band Festival in February.

According to one observer “The band did a great job at Walt Disney World and made the Copper Country proud.”
