Blue Violin returns!
Classic Rock Tribute coming to L'Anse
L’ANSE — After a sold out show at Houghton’s Rosza Center, Blue Violin returns to the Keweenaw, with a unique, intimate encore performance 7:30 p.m. Sat, July 25 at Linden Creek Farm in L’Anse. Enjoy an Immersive Candlelit Journey Through Iconic Rock Anthems. Described as “Rock and roll meets classical music in a gorgeously crafted hour of music,” Blue Violin lets you step into a world of shimmering light, where legendary rock anthems are reborn through a single violin — played with the fire and intensity of a full band.
According to a press release “Thunderstruck” is not just a tribute show. This is Blue Violin — a genre-defying, conservatory-trained virtuoso who has sold out venues from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall, and now brings his world tour to Australia, Europe, Asia, and across the U.S.
Often described as “Ed Sheeran meets Lindsey Stirling,” Blue Violin delivers fiery virtuosity and cinematic flair in every performance.
Blue Violin has been earning international accolades for genre-bending performances that blur the line between classical virtuosity and rock energy with appearances alongside artists including John Mayer and Paul McCartney.
The set list for the current “Thunderstruck” tour includes classics such as “Thunderstruck,” “Free Bird,” “Kashmir,”
“Stairway to Heaven,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Crazy Train” and more
Blue Violin shattered classical boundaries with the world premiere of the first-ever rock and roll violin concerto, debuting the groundbreaking work in the United States. He now tours internationally with the Prague Metropolitan Symphony, bringing the piece to audiences in Austria, Germany, Czechia, and the United States. His concerto continues to be featured by major ensembles around the world, praised for its emotional depth and cinematic power.
As founder and first violinist of the award winning Boston String Quartet, he reshaped the modern classical scene and co-led the world premiere of Raul Yanez’s Concerto for Turntable at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium with Red Bull Artsehcro.
