Harter’s, a family-owned store, has been at its same location, 511 Pine Street, since 1929, when it was listed in the Houghton County Directory as Harter’s Sporting Goods. The Harter family has been in that business for 96 years in business 43 years before Fathers Day became a national holiday in 1972! The Harters can boast of having decades of experience in helping families with Fathers Day gifts.

Known today as Harter’s Party Store, it is the oldest continually operating business in Calumet, Barry Harter boasts.”We have a wide array of fishing gear,” said Barry Harter. “along with outdoor apparel – any kind of gifts for dad.
