HANCOCK — Xeratec announced Brett Hillstrom has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Steve Hillstrom, founder and former CEO, will transition into the role of Chief Technology Officer and AI Officer, where he will lead Xeratec’s technology strategy and artificial intelligence initiatives.

Xeratec’s executive leadership team will be led by Brett Hillstrom (CEO), Jordan Hillstrom (Chief Revenue Officer) and Steve Hillstrom (CTO and AI Officer) — aligning customer delivery, growth, and innovation around a clear construction-focused mission.

“We’re stepping into an exciting new chapter focused on construction technology — built to deliver real, practical improvements for the construction industry,” said Steve Hillstrom. “With Brett as CEO, Jordan as CRO, and me as CTO and AI Officer, we’re aligned to help builders and the teams behind them work smarter, stay connected, and get more done with less friction.”

Brett Hillstrom began his career at Xeratec more than 20 years ago while still in high school, learning to program under his father’s mentorship. Since then, he has served in nearly every role across the organization — from early operations support to project leadership, business development, and culture-building–helping guide Xeratec through multiple stages of growth and evolution.

“We believe software should be a force multiplier–not a necessary evil,” said Brett Hillstrom. “Our focus is building software that fits construction companies–not forcing construction companies to fit software. And as AI becomes more accessible, we want to help organizations leverage intelligence without losing the human touch.”

As CEO, Brett Hillstrom will continue to prioritize leadership development and a values-driven culture centered on long-term personal and professional growth. He noted that Xeratec is committed to building an environment where team members are supported as whole individuals–not only in their careers, but in the areas of life that matter most.

“Businesses don’t grow–people do,” Hillstrom added. “When people grow as whole individuals, they make a bigger impact in their career, in their family, and in their community. That’s the kind of company we want to build.”

He also added that Xeratec’s mission is powered by the strength of its team–and that the company’s future depends on continuing to invest in great people alongside great technology. “We’ve built the best team we’ve ever had,” Hillstrom said. “Now we’re focused on what comes next: helping construction companies thrive with software that truly works for them.”
