HOUGHTON — Houghton High School senior Marjorie Miller (right) receives a plaque from CCISD’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Automotive Technology Instructor David Narhi (left) commemorating her first-place state championship for SkillsUSA’s Automotive Service Technology. Miller faced 24 contestants in nine troubleshooting stations for automobiles and passed a written test. She can now participate in the national SkillsUSA competition from June 23 to 28 in Atlanta, Georgia, but only if she can get permission to delay her ship date from the U.S. Navy.
