LAKE LINDEN – As local school districts in the Copper Country Intermediate School District get ready to greet returning students next week, the Lake Linden-Hubbell School District is the midst of a search for the new superintendent.
Former Superintendent and Middle/High School Principal Brad Codere announced his retirement effective Jun 30. At a special meeting on June 17, the Lake Linden School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Craig Sundblad to the position of interim superintendent, effective July 1, while a search for a permanent superintendent continues.
Sundblad said the Michigan Association of School Boards is leading the search, and the application deadline is September 23 at 4 p.m. First round interviews will be October 13-14.
“We should know the results in a couple of months,” said Sundlad.
In the meantime, Sundblad said the school district is ready and looking forward to having the students back next week.
“We’ve had great summer workers here,” he said, “and the school’s in good shape.
