Hancock School Board selects officers
HANCOCK – The Hancock School Board conducted it annual election of officers at its regular monthly meeting Monday evening, with each officer being re-elected to the seats they held for the 2024-2025 school year.
Michael Lancour was re-elected to serve as president.
Charlie Klein is again vice president.
Emilie Lancour will serve as secretary.
Becky Ylitalo is again treasurer.
Rod Paavola and Taylor Paul are trustees.
Under Michigan law, school boards must elect their officers ( at their organizational meeting, which typically occurs in January after new members have seated, and these officers begin their terms January 1st, with the board deciding the specific timing and procedures within state law. The Open Meetings Act requires these elections to be done by open vote, not secret ballot, with the board president elected first to chair the election
