CMU alumni give back
MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan University alumni Tim and Nan Buerger Maczka have made a $1 million gift to the Covenant Healthcare College of Medicine at CMU. The gift will cover medical school costs for future physicians committed to serving residents and families in central and northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Their namesake scholarship targets current and future students, especially those who grew up north of M-57, which runs between Kent and Genesee counties.
While they currently live in Rockford, Tim and Nan grew up in northern Michigan and hope this gift inspires students from the area to enter the medical field and serve in rural Michigan communities.
