CHASSELL -- Chassell Township Schools is hosting its Fall Festival benefitting the Chassell Robotics Team this Friday and Saturday. Participants can expect fun, games and food starting 5:30 p.m. Friday and continuing Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The Chassell Copper Country Cats Robotics Team is looking to purchase the First Robotics Competition Robot Kit for the upcoming 2027 season.

Coach and Math/Science Teacher Kellan Heikkila said the fundraiser also gives responsibility to the robotics team members to do a good job helping run the event.

"The robotics team will be assisting with the set-up and clean-up of the craft show, as well as hosting the other activities," he said. "In addition to raising funds for the FRC robot kit, hosting the craft show allows the team to practice teamwork and project management in preparation for the upcoming Robotics season."

Heikkila added there will be food and drinks for sale, arts and crafts activities, a silent auction and a scavenger hunt for families.

Friday will feature a bring-your-own pumpkin drop contest and other fall themed activities such as a haunted forest and face painting, as a part of the family engagement portion of the festival. Local vendors and crafters will be setting up a craft show on the festival's second day.

Family, friends and residents are encouraged to show up and support their school's robotics team. Free entry and all proceeds go to the Chassell Copper Country Cats.
