Miss Upper Peninsula, Upper Peninsula Teen crowned

MARQUETTE?- The Upper Peninsula’s newest representatives were crowned at the 2015 Miss Upper Peninsula Pageant held April 25th at the Forest Roberts Theatre in Marquette. Brittany Cappoferri of Negaunee was crowned the new Miss Upper Peninsula USA and Madelyn Christensen of Escanaba was crowned the new Miss Upper Peninsula Teen USA.

Seventeen young women competed in the pageant. Also placing in the competition were: in the Miss Division, Eliisa Gladwell of Marquette was First Runner Up and also won the Miss Congeniality special award, Nicole Gustafson of Garden was the Second Runner Up, and Jill Vermeulen of Marquette won the Miss Photogenic special award. In the Teen Division; Zoey Peterson of Marquette was First Runner Up, Brittany Zellar of Gulliver was the Second Runner Up and also won the Miss Congeniality Teen special award, and the teen winner Madelyn Christensen also won the Miss Photogenic Teen special award.

The new titleholders will now represent the Upper Peninsula as they advance compete at the 2016 Miss Michigan USA & Miss Michigan Teen USA Pageants, which will be held September 25-26, 2015 in Port Huron, MI; the Official State Preliminaries to the national Miss Teen USA Pageant & NBC Nationally Broadcast Miss USA Pageant.
