Santa Claus in South Range

Other businesses contributed to purchasing toys and food. Sponsors included the Village of South Range, Vitality Chiropractic, South Range Bottling, Campioni Convenience, Econo Foods, Keweenaw Petroleum, Keweenaw Brewing Company, Range Lions, South Range Eagles and Eagles Auxilary, Kathy Bonini, Torey Kostoma, Kathy Deforge, Karen Houle and Phil Ahola.

(Joshua Vissers/Daily Mining Gazette) The line to meet Santa stretched across the South Range Community Hall. The event included opportunities for kids to write letters to Santa, decorate cookies, eat hot dogs, make cards and participate in a coloring contest before the annual toy raffle. The event is organized by the South Range Fire Department, “with a lot of help from the wives,” said Fire Chief Mike Balma.
