HOUGHTON – Two persons found dead on Isle Royale Sunday have been identified. According to a press release from Isle Royale National Park Headquarters in Houghton the individuals were found at South Lake Desor Campground.

Both individuals have been identified, and their next of kin have been notified. There is no known threat to the public at this time.

Due to the remote location of the campground near Greenstone Ridge trail, a fixed-wing aircraft and a helicopter were used to assist with transportation for the investigation. Park service personnel said the investigation remains ongoing, and they have no further information to provide.
