Ontonagon man arrested on multiple charges

An Ontonagon man is in jail facing a variety charges stemming from a Wednesday night arrest. According to a press release, Ontonagon County Undersheriff Charles Pantti said the arrest was made shortly after 8:30 p.m. Pantti said an Ontonagon County Sheriffs deputy performed a traffic stop within the Village of Ontonagon.

As the result of that stop, the deputy arrested a 49 year old Ontonagon man on multiple drug and weapons charges along with traffic offenses.

The man, whose name has not been released, is currently lodged in the Ontonagon County jail awaiting arraignment. In his release, Pantti stated that no other details will be released at this time. The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s office was assisted by Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post and a K-9 unit from the Iron Mountain Post.
