CCHS holds fundraiser

HOUGHTON — The Copper Country Humane Society, an animal welfare and treatment center serving Keweenaw, Baraga, and Houghton Counties, has teamed up with Little Ceasar’s to raise money for its’ shelter. The money raised will go towards essential services such as vet care, spaying and neutering and medical needs for the nearly 1,000 animals the organization cares for annually.
Until July 15, members of the public can purchase a variety of Little Caesar’s pizza kits, in-store deals, and dessert kits. Kit options range from $21.99 for a Crazy Bread Kit with Sauce to a $58.99 Fan Favorite Bundle, which includes six six-inch pizzas, 36 breadsticks, and 30 cookies. In-store options include pizzas, breadsticks, wings, and more. In-store codes are valid for 364 days after purchase.
The Copper Country Humane Society was founded in 1974, to provide foster homes for lost and abused animals in the area. Ninety percent of their cats and dogs are adopted or claimed every year, and there is no time limit on how long the animals can stay in the shelter.
CCHS also offers educational opportunities at schools and civic organizations. Additionally, they raise money to help low-income families afford the costs associated with spaying or neutering a pet.
“CCHS works to return lost animals to their owners and to identify suitable homes for the remaining animals,” the organization writes. “While in our care, animals receive professional, quality care by concerned individuals dedicated to helping animals.”
