MARQUETTE – On Thursday night, M-28 near Star Siding Road in Alger County was temporarily closed due to the face that an airplane had to make an emergency landing after its engine blew mid-flight.
According to Michigan State Police at the 8th District Headquarters in Negaunee, there were no injuries and the pilot was able to land the small plane, a single-seat biplane, successfully. MSP along with deputies from the Alger County Sheriff’s Department and personnel from the Munising Fire Department assisted on the scene.
The plane was brought to Hanley Field Airport in Wetmore by state troopers.
