Fire destroys Chassell Township home
No injuries reported in early morning blaze
CHASSELL TOWNSHIP — A home in Chassell Township was destroyed by an early Friday morning fire. Houghton County Sheriff deputies and fire departments including Chassell Township and Otter Lake Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire shortly after midnight Friday.
According to Houghton County Sheriff Josh Saaranen fire destroyed the home at 25369 South Klingville Road, in Chassell Township.
Saaranen said when deputies arrived, the home, which was occupied at the time, fully engulfed in flames. “All occupants and pets were out of the home,” he said.
Saaranen said the state fire marshal’s office was not called on and at this time, no foul play is suspected.
