HOUGHTON - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has place the traffic signal on M-26 at Houghton Canal Road in Houghton into flash mode for the season as of early this morning.

The signal will flash yellow for M-26 and flash red for Houghton Canal Road for the winter season. This schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

MDOT urges drivers to be aware of these signal changes and use caution when approaching the intersection.

MDOT installed this signal early this past summer and plans to operate it from approximately May until October each year with the signal placed in flash mode during the winter months. The exact schedule for seasonal operation of the signal depends on traffic volumes and weather conditions.
