Fatal accident in Ontonagon County
Victim was from Wisconsin
ONTONAGON — A man from Wisconsin has died as the result of a multi-vehicle accident in rural Ontonagon County earlier this week.
According to a release from Ontonagon County Under Sheriff Charles Pantti, the accident occurred Monday morning. Shortly after 11:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a multi-car personal injury accident which had occurred on US-45 north of Gauthier Road in Stannard Township north of Bruce Crossing.
Pantti said that upon investigation, one person sustained fatal injuries and one person was transported for further medical attention. The victim was identified as 24-year old Andrew Scott Bjork of Hudson WI.
Assisting at the scene was a Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper and an accident investigator from the Wakefield Post, an MSP accident reconstructionist, SONCO South and North Ambulances, Bruce Crossing Fire Dept., Rockland Fire Dept., and Lake Gogebic Towing.
The release did not indicate the number of accidents involved in crash but indicated that no further details will be released at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
