New commander at Iron Mt. Post
Calumet native started Sunday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Michigan State Police (MSP) announced that F/Lt. Greg Primeau has been selected as the new post commander of the Iron Mountain Post.
F/Lieutenant Primeau is originally from Calumet, Michigan. He attended Suomi College and Northern Michigan University’s Regional Police Academy before joining the Meridian Township Police Department in lower Michigan. He later enlisted with the MSP on July 18, 2004, as a member of the 120th Trooper Recruit School.
According to a Michigan State Police press relese Primeau has served in many roles throughout his career. He has been assigned to the Iron Mountain Post since 2011 and most recently served there as a uniform sergeant. He has been a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor and a Drug Recognition Expert for many years, helping him identify impaired drivers and provide training and continuing education to fellow law enforcement officers. He has also been a mentor and a valuable resource for both MSP members and other law enforcement officers.
