Baraga Chamber looking for Business of the Year
L’Anse — The Baraga County Chamber of Commerce announced Upward Talent Council Michigan Works will join as a partner in presenting the 2026 Baraga County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award. This annual honor recognizes a Chamber member business that demonstrates a continued passion for excellence, responsible leadership, and a commitment to community harmony.
“Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! is excited to partner with the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce in recognizing the businesses that drive our local economy,” said Benjamin Wilson, Business Services Specialist with Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! “We’re proud to support this effort and help celebrate the businesses that make Baraga County a great place to live and work.”
Nominations Open Through Feb. 16
Community members are encouraged to nominate a Chamber member business for this distinguished recognition. If you are unsure whether a business is a current Chamber member, simply submit your nomination and the Chamber will verify eligibility. “We want to hear from our community,” said Debbie Stouffer, Board President of the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce. “This is your opportunity to shine a light on the businesses you value most. We encourage everyone to submit a nomination and help us recognize the businesses that make a meaningful difference in Baraga County.”
Nomination submissions should include:
• Name of the business being nominated
• A description of why the business deserves recognition
• Name and contact information (address, phone number, and email) of the person submitting the nomination
• Or request a nomination form by emailing baragachamberoffice@gmail.com
Nominations may be dropped off at: Baraga County Chamber of Commerce, 1 N Main St, L’Anse, MI 49946 or emailed to baragachamberoffice@gmail.com. Nominations must be received by February 16, 2026 to be considered. After nominations are collected, a ballot will be prepared. Voting will take place in person at the Chamber Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Banquet on Feb.
The winning business will receive:
• A commemorative plaque
• Promotion across Chamber social media channels
• A news release shared with local media
• A complimentary 2026-2027 Chamber Business Level Membership (valued at $175)
