Bridgefest ’26 dates set

HOUGHTON — The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce announced that Bridgefest 2026 will take place June 11-14, again this year a week earlier than the traditional Father’s Day weekend. The Chamber shared that Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, in partnership with the Portage Lake Enrichment Foundation/Bridgefest, will serve as the presenting sponsor of this year’s festival.

According to a press release Copper Shores Community Health Foundation announced the return of many fan-favorite Bridgefest traditions while introducing new activities designed to enhance the overall festival experience. Preparations are already underway for what promises to be a vibrant, inclusive celebration.

“Planning is in full swing, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Copper Shores Community Health Foundation to make Bridgefest 2026 a truly unforgettable event,” said Katie Schlief, of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce. “Their commitment to community well-being and connection aligns perfectly with the spirit of Bridgefest.”

Bridgefest 2026 will once again offer a family-friendly lineup of events for all ages, including a grand fireworks display, a festive parade, food and beverage vendors, a car show, kids’ activities, engaging contests, live entertainment, and a wide variety of craft, merchandise, and art vendors. The festival will also feature water-based activities, health awareness initiatives, and other interactive experiences throughout the weekend.

“At Copper Shores, we believe strong communities are built when people come together to celebrate, connect, and care for one another,” said Michael Babcock of Copper Shores Community Health Foundation. “Bridgefest is a cherished Keweenaw tradition, and we are proud to support an event that promotes joy, wellness, and community pride for residents and visitors alike.”

“Our volunteers, partners, and sponsors are working diligently to ensure Bridgefest 2026 is safe, successful, and welcoming to all,” Schlief added. “We’re excited to build on the festival’s legacy while continuing to grow its impact.”
