HANCOCK – Hancock Public Schools is hosting a public open house at the High School/ Middle School, calling the event the Spring Showcase of Excellence.

Hancock Superintendent Chris Salani said the event is an opportunity for Hancock residents, as well as all residents within the Copper Country Intermediate School District, to visit the high school/middle school campus.

“The public can see the aspects of the school’s manufacturing and STEM labs and different things that will be going on with our new bond coming up, as well as displays and examples of students’ achievements and works,” Salani said, “so, its an open house.”

Salani said the event is tying into the Copper Country Association of School Boards’ (CCASB)activities for the spring, following the CCASB’s annual awards ceremony last week.

Each year, a different school district within the CCASB is selected to host the organization. Hancock Public Schools was this year’s 2025-2026 school year host. Hancock hosted this years awards ceremony, with Hancock School Board President Michael Lancour serving as the event’s emcee.

Along with hosting the awards, the selected school district typically also hosts the CCASB Spring Program.

“Our spring program is tied in with our final CCASB Board meeting this year, which we have the CCASB Board members and all board members from the local districts invited to the program.” The event is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
