WASHINGtON DC — U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman (R-Watersmeet), issued a statement Wednesday calling for politicians who are against the America First agenda to step aside. “As anti-Trump forces within the Republican Party continue to desperately grasp for perceived power, Republican voters are making their voices heard loud and clear,” the statement reads. “The America First movement is stronger than ever, and conservatives across the country are uniting behind President Donald J. Trump’s agenda to secure the border, restore the economy, protect our freedoms, and put America back on the right track.
“The message from voters is simple: the Republican Party is the America First Party, and President Trump is leading the movement. Candidates who oppose the President’s agenda, reject his endorsements, and fight against the America First movement should step aside, support the conservative leaders who are fighting for the values Republican voters actually believe in, or face defeat in August.”
The statement concludes by stating, “Instead of wasting time, money and energy on divisive intra-party fights with an already clear outcome, Republicans must unite behind President Trump’s agenda and focus on winning in November. Together, we can deliver Republican majorities in the Michigan House and Senate, expand our Republican majority in Congress, and continue fighting to secure the border, restore the economy, and put America first once again.”
