MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The lone suspect in the Friday night stabbing in Marquette County has been arraigned. 36-year-old Joshua Grenier was arraigned Monday in 96th District Court on one count of Assault with Intent to Murder. His bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety. His next hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2026.
According to a Michigan State Police press release, at last report the alleged victim, who suffered serious injuries, is in stable condition in a local hospital.A suspect has been arrested following a stabbing in Marquette County Friday evening.
According to the release, shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, troopers from the MSP Negaunee Post, along with additional assisting law enforcement agencies, responded to a residence in Marquette County’s Chocolay Township.
According to the press release, a 36-year-old male, later identified as Joshua Grenier, allegedly stabbed a 32-year-old male with a knife during an altercation. The suspect also allegedly assaulted a juvenile prior to the stabbing. The juvenile who was assaulted reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Michigan State Police remind the public the suspect is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
MSP was assisted by multiple agencies, including Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) Tribal Police, Marquette Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Chocolay Township Police Department and Marquette County Central Dispatch.
