VA medical center to host events

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will host a series of Veteran Town Hall and Q&A sessions across the western Upper Peninsula this October. All veterans, along with their families and friends, are encouraged to attend and learn more about services and benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Representatives from the VA Medical Center and local County Veteran Service Officers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss VA programs.

Event Schedule:

• Covington 2 p.m. Oct. 7, 2025, VFW Post 8945, 13505 VFW Rd.

• Houghton 5 p.m. Oct. 7, The American Legion Post 90, 390 Front St., Lake Linden

• Copper Harbor, 10 a.m. Oct. 8, Mariner North Resort, 245 Gratiot St.

• L’Anse, 2 p.m. Oct. 8, American Legion Post, 115 Front St.

• Watersmeet 2 p.m. (CDT) Oct. 8, Watersmeet Community Center, N4689 1st St.

• Crystal Falls 2 p.m. (CDT) Oct. 9, 2025, VFW 2891, 108 Superior Ave.

• Rockland 5 p.m. Oct. 9, American Legion Post 92, 101 National Ave.

Veterans not currently enrolled in VA health care are especially encouraged to attend to learn more about eligibility and enrollment. The sessions are open to the public.
