HANCOCK -- Hancock Rotary presents the "World of Wine Tasting and Silent Auction" at 7 p.m. Friday at the Finnish American Heritage Center (doors open at 6:30 p.m.).
This year's annual wine tasting event will feature wines supplied by Retaggio Imports, which is serving as winery representative at the event. Retaggio Imports, headquartered in Iron River, is bringing a particularly exciting selection to this year's tasting: wines that are first introduced to the state of Michigan through the U.P. that will be featured at the "World of Wine Tasting.” These wines will be paired with delicious small-plate offerings from Gino's Restaurant in Hancock, creating an evening designed to showcase the unique characteristics of each selection.
The evening promises an exceptional combination of new wines, creative food pairings, silent-auction opportunities, and community fellowship--all while supporting Hancock Rotary's local and international service efforts.
Tickets are $75 per person or $525 for a table of eight. Tickets are available from Hancock Rotarians and may also be purchased during business hours at Hancock City Hall.
Guests are encouraged to "dress to impress" and participate in the "Fall Fest Best Dressed Competition" for a chance to win prizes. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win a fully stocked wine cooler. The World of Wine Tasting is Hancock Rotary's largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds benefiting City of Hancock projects and End Polio Now™.
