Guest shoots host with arrow; alcohol involved

HANCOCK – A houseguest was arrested in Hancock after allegedly shooting his host with an arrow after an argument Saturday afternoon.
About 12:30 p.m., the property owner, a 56-year-old man, and guest had gotten into an argument over a cell phone at a house on Summit Street, said Hancock Police Chief Wayne Butler. The guest got a compound bow an, a 58-year-old Hancock man, shot the owner through the shoulder. Both people were intoxicated, Butler said.
The shooting victim had surgery and is back home, Butler said.
The alleged archer was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and lodged in the Houghton County Jail. His name is not being released pending arraignment.
