Alzheimer’s Association offers dial-in support groups for all Michigan residents

The Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter has announced free online support groups in the coming weeks to help offer caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia social interaction, educational information and support as the world addresses the COVID-19 outbreak.

“It often takes a village to care for someone with Alzheimer’s,” Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter Vice President of Program Services Melanie Baird, said. “It’s important for all those impacted by dementia to know they are not alone – especially as social distancing may make us feel even more isolated. The Alzheimer’s Association remains committed to doing our part to provide much-needed access to education, support networks, safety services, care consultation services, social engagement programs and much more.”

The below Dial-in Support Groups are open to anyone in the state of Michigan:

Wednesday, Mar. 18 10 to 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Mar. 25 6 to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Apr. 15 10 to 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Apr. 22 6 to 7 p.m.

The dial-in number for the meetings is 312-757-3121, and the access code is 294-847-693.

Support groups are facilitated by individuals who have received training from the Alzheimer’s Association. Information is provided as a resource but is not intended as an endorsement of any one product or provider.
