LAURIUM – Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics is pleased to welcome board-certified General Surgeon Wendy Frye, MD, FACS, to its excellent surgical services team. Dr. Frye joins the general surgery team in delivering a higher level of comprehensive surgical services for patients of all ages in the Keweenaw area. She is now seeing patients in Houghton and Laurium.

Dr. Frye specializes in all aspects of general surgery. She completed her general surgery residency at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and earned her doctorate from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Mich.

Prior to joining Aspirus Health, Dr. Frye was a general surgeon in Vermont and at Munson Healthcare in Gaylord, Michigan.

Dr. Frye enjoys all aspects of general surgery, from treating critical illnesses to advising patients on outpatient surgical options.

“General surgery provides a unique opportunity to work together with patients to treat and prevent disease,” Dr. Frye said. “I feel privileged to be part of the Aspirus health care team serving Upper Peninsula families.”

Dr. Frye is originally from Marquette, and resides in Calumet. Her interests outside of work include exploring the outdoors with her husband and dogs, mountain biking, running, gardening, and visiting family.
