LAURIUM – Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics proudly welcomes Certified Physician Assistant Audrey Schaefer, PA-C, to its team of family medicine providers.

Schaefer earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and her bachelor’s degree in biology from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

“I aim to establish long-term relationships with patients and their families and assist them with reaching their health goals,” Schaefer said.

Her special interests include lifestyle medicine, which focuses on the prevention, treatment and reversal of certain diagnoses through changes in nutrition, lifestyle and activity. Schaefer’s hobbies include spending time with her husband and toddler son, mountain biking, camping and reading.

Most recently, Schaefer worked as a physician assistant in the emergency department for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Schaefer says she’s most excited about joining Aspirus Health because of the “opportunity to join a team that is well-known for its history of excellence in the community, where I have family ties and look forward to raising my family.”
