Creating Confident Caregiver workshop

Are you caring for someone living at home with memory loss? Are you feeling overwhelmed or stressed from your caregiving responsibilities? If this sounds like you, Creating Confident Caregivers may be the answer to your caregiving needs.

Creating Confident Caregivers is a six-week online educational training program provided by the Upper Peninsula Area Agency on Aging/UPCAP for family members caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia or memory loss and are still living at home. The evidence-based university tested program provides participants with information, skills and attitudes to manage stress and increase effective caregiving skills, and to deal with difficult behaviors.

The two- hour online classes will be held for six weeks on Wednesday, July 28, August 4, 11, 18, 25, and September 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. EST. An optional orientation for Webex, the virtual platform used, will be held at 2 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 21.

There is no charge to participants for the workshop or materials. A computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet, microphone and webcam, and email address is needed to attend. Registration is required by July 18, and class size is limited. Registration can be done online at www.upcap.org or dial 2-1-1 for assistance.
