Aspirus Health welcomes Michigan Tech alumna Taylor Root, PA-C, to its foot and ankle (podiatry) team

LAURIUM – Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics proudly welcomes Certified Physician Assistant Taylor Root to its excellent team of medical providers. She joins Jonathan Brueggeman, DPM, FACFAS, AAPWCA in delivering a higher level of foot and ankle, wound care and limb salvage, for patients close to home.

“I am excited to educate patients and help them get on the road to recovery,” Root said. “Coming from an athletic background and playing varsity soccer at Michigan Tech, I’m really excited to work with student athletes of all ages.”

Root earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Mich. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also certified in Basic Life Support, Fundamental Critical Care Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

“I look forward to caring for people in this small, rural community that’s so welcoming and special to me,” Root said.

Root’s hobbies include spending time with her husband and families. Together they enjoy skiing, camping and traveling. She also loves to stay busy and creative in the kitchen.
