Operation Copper Country Active Duty
The Auxiliary of Alfred Erickson American Legion Post 186 of Hancock, announces Operation Copper Country Active Duty. This is a project to support and thank our local active duty servicemen and servicewomen from Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga and Ontonagon counties with Christmas gifts from the Copper Country and will run through the month of November.
Containers for monetary donations can be found at:
— Krupp’s Mini Mart, Omer’s Golf Course/Bar/Restaurant and Cabins in Twin Lakes
— Festival Foods, Suomi Restaurant, Surplus Outlet and B&B Bar in Houghton
— Pat’s Foods, Gino’s Restaurant, WMPL/WKMJ Radio Station, Kaleva Café and Peterson Chiropractic in Hancock
Copper Country gift items may be dropped off at Peterson Chiropractic in Hancock. Suggested items are: Copper Country/Yooper/906 shirts/sweatshirts/hats, Sayklly’s chocolates, nonperishable snacks, Keweenaw playing cards, reading materials, stationary and envelopes — anything lightweight and easy to pack that will remind our troops of home.
