Twin Brian Taavola, left and Bruce Taavola are celebrating their 85th birthday today.

Born Sept. 12, 1937, in Misery Bay, Toivola, Mich., to Reynold and Helmi Taavola.

Bruce Taavola was born first and Brian Taavola arrived 15 minutes later.

They both graduated from Jeffers High School and both worked for Michigan Department of Transportation.

Bruce married Jean Maatta, also from Toivola, in 1955, and Brian married her sister, Adele Maatta, in 1958.

Bruce and Jean have two sons, two daughters, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Brian and Adele have four sons, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
