Village Council accepts manager resignation

CALUMET — The Village Council accepted with regret the resignation of Village Manager Amber Goodman during the regular Sept. Village Council meeting. Her last day will be Oct. 3.

The position is posted, she told the council, due to the emergency nature of the position.

The post states that the Village Manager is the key administrative and financial leader for the Village of Calumet.

“I have offered to do some hours after I leave,” she said, “mostly a weekend or rare evenings.”

Trustee Andrew Ranville said he thanks Goodman for her service, as did Trustee Pam Que. Trustee Ken Olkkonen said Goodman was excellant to work with.

Also discussed was the changing of hours the Village Hall will be open for business.

Goodman said the reason for the requesting the change in operating hours is due to her leaving.

Village Accounts Clerk Coreen Balbough said that she would to staff the office from Oct. 4 through Dec. 10, the date on which she will retire. The manager position posting is on the village of Calumet website.

Goodman told the council that Balbough said she could be present five days a week, Mon – Fri. 10 a.m. -3 p.m. through the end of Nov., or she could work four days per week, Monday – Thur. Oct.-Dec. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., potentially. Balbough is scheduled to retire at the end of November,

Currently, the hours of operation are listed on the village’s website as MF – 9am to 12pm; 1pm to 4pm.
