Keweenaw NHP Advisory Commission to meet Oct. 10

CALUMET, MI — The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission will convene for its regular quarterly meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10. The meeting will be held in-person at the Keweenaw National Historical Park Headquarters building, located at 25970 Red Jacket Road, on the corner of Red Jacket Road and Hwy. US-41 in Calumet.

The meeting will include an update on the work of the Commission and the National Park Service during the last quarter, discussion of plans and projects to be undertaken in the upcoming quarter, as well as questions, requests, and comments from members of the public. The Commission will be electing positions for the upcoming year as well as welcoming Mary Sears, representing Franklin and Quincy Townships. Sears replaces the outgoing John Sullivan, who served on the Commission for over a decade.

The Keweenaw NHP Advisory Commission, paneled by citizens appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, represents the public and works collaboratively with the National Park Service to advise and assist with managing the resources of Keweenaw National Historical Park.
