Wisconsin Public Media

Press release

Jordan L. Siegler has been named Associate Director of Wisconsin Public Media, the division at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that oversees Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin. Siegler has served as interim Associate Director since July 2022.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan native and Madison resident is a graduate of Finlandia University International School of Art & Design and brings eight years of management, leadership and fundraising experience in the public media industry to his new position. He also previously served in design, development and marketing roles with other organizations.

In his new role, Siegler will provide strategic leadership and guidance for the organization as deputy to the Executive Director of WPM, Heather L. Reese.

“I am delighted to announce Jordan Siegler as the next Associate Director of Wisconsin Public Media,” Reese said. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jordan since he started his career in public media in 2015. I’ve been consistently impressed with his passion for our mission, his integrity, and his ability to develop authentic relationships with staff, donors and external partners.

“I appointed Jordan to serve as interim Associate Director a little over a year ago,” she added. “He has risen to the challenge admirably, providing the strategic vision, dedication and enthusiasm that I anticipated he would bring to the role.”

A partnership of WPM and Wisconsin’s Educational Communications Board (ECB), public media’s statewide programming, education services and broadcasting infrastructure serves Wisconsin residents in every corner of the state with trustworthy journalism, compelling programming, and educational resources through its award-winning services, delivering on UW-Madison’s Wisconsin Idea that education should influence people’s lives beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

“Having started his public media career at ECB, Jordan’s perspective is hugely valuable to the WPM and ECB partnership’s executive team,” said ECB Executive Director Marta Bechtol. “He’s made important contributions during his term as interim Associate Director, so I’m thrilled that he will continue to serve our viewers and listeners in this permanent position.”

“Public media has proven to be foundational in my life and career, so it is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I accept this appointment as WPM Associate Director,” Siegler said. “I am eager to continue advancing our mission, and I pledge to dedicate my experience, insight, skills, and heart in service to my colleagues, our shared future, and all the people whose lives are enriched by the work we do together.”
