HANCOCK — Visit the Copper Country Community Arts Center during March to view more than 200 wonderful works of youth art. The Celebrate Youth Arts Month exhibition is on display through March 30 in the Youth Gallery and the Kerredge Gallery at the CCCAC.

March is a time to recognize young artists and to appreciate the art teachers who work throughout the school year encouraging and inspiring their students. This year’s participating schools include: Baraga Area Schools, Calumet High School, Washington Middle School, CLK Elementary, Houghton Elementary, Houghton High School, Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Schools, Jeffers High School, South Range Elementary, Barkell Elementary, Hancock High School, Hancock Middle School and L’Anse Area Schools.

Bonnie Loukus, assistant director of the CCCAC, is excited to be part of promoting young artists. She sees young athletes from all around the Copper Country being featured for their accomplishments on the field, court or ice and is thrilled to be expanding the recognition to other activities.

“There are so many talented kids in this area,” Loukus said.

Follow the arts center on Instagram @coppercountryarts and facebook.com/cccac for daily posts of youth art through March. Watch for photos of youth art printed every day in the Daily Mining Gazette.

The CCCAC is located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock. The Celebrate Youth Arts Month exhibition is open Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 906-482-2333 or email ccarts@coppercountryarts.com for more information.
