Houghton teams take first at Spring GCC Quiz Bowl Tournament

Houghton I team members include team captain-Tyler Gregersen, Brad Burns, Jack Mueller, and Peter Rudnicki. They are coached by Rebecca Keyes.
In the junior varsity division, Houghton III and West Iron County III won their respective divisions with Houghton III winning by a score of 430-240. Houghton III team members include: Liam Inal, Boden Rudnicki, Eliana Sommerville and Team Captain Billy Knewtson. They are coached by Rebecca Keyes.
The Spring Quiz Bowl Invitational Tournament is sponsored each year by Gogebic Community College. All of the participants and their coaches should be congratulated. Special thanks to Quiz Bowl Coordinator, Dave Rowe for organizing another successful day of academic competition. Also, thank you to PTK Advisor and Director of Student Outreach and Engagement, Dayle Jackson, as well as all of the GCC staff, students and community members who helped make this an exceptional event.
Gogebic Community College hosts both fall and spring Quiz Bowl events on campus annually for high school students. “This was a great opportunity for our area students to gain confidence in quiz bowl competition. It is a wonderful for our area students to participate in an academic competition while visiting the Gogebic Community College campus,” said Dave Rowe, Co-Quiz Bowl Organizer. All of the participants and their coaches should be congratulated.
