Police responded around 2:40 a.m. Saturday to a 911 call of an assault at a residence at a former church building on the 300 block of Hancock Street.

The two people found at the scene were both transported to UP Health – Portage that morning. Police said the victim in the incident had been released from the hospital Saturday night, while the suspect was transported to another hospital.
