Dixon hearing reset for June 28

HOUGHTON — The review hearing for a Hancock man charged with a November murder in Houghton has been rescheduled.

Evan Dixon, 60, will appear in 97th District Court on June 28. The hearing had originally been set for last Friday.

In January, he was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he is competent to stand trial.

Dixon is accused of being the shooter of Theron Duncan, 53, of Houghton, who was killed at the Douglass House Saloon on Nov. 17. No motive is known for the shooting.

Dixon faces a charge of first degree murder-premeditated, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, as well as an additional felony firearms charge, a two-year felony.
