Atlantic Mine man, 55, jailed on drug charges

An investigation by UPSET detectives led to the arrest of a 55-year-old Atlantic Mine man on Friday, according to a release from the Michigan State Police. He is charged with three counts of delivery of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to deliver.

Police said the suspect had 7 grams of meth at the time of his arrest. Officers from the Michigan State Police Post, Houghton City Police and UPSET detectives made the arrest in the city of Houghton.

Following the arrest, officers and detectives conducted a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and workshop. More evidence of drug use and paraphernalia was located.

UPSET was assisted by troopers of the MSP Calumet Post, Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies, Houghton City Police and Superior Service Towing.

The suspect was lodged at the Houghton County Jail. Authorities are not releasing his name until his arraignment in 97th District Court.
