Foundation welcomes applications for fall grants

HANCOCK — The Keweenaw Community Foundation has announced that its fall grant application cycle is open until Oct. 31. Several of our endowment funds will be accepting grant proposals this fall. These funds are dedicated to supporting a diverse range of community-focused initiatives across the Copper Country.

Nonprofits and community leaders are invited to apply. Eligible organizations include 501 (c)(3) public charities, schools, churches and local governments.

Grants cannot be awarded to individuals. Other restrictions include:

• Grants must be used for charitable purposes.

• Grants should support programs or projects in Keweenaw and Houghton Counties – unless stated otherwise.

• Grants must follow the KCF Non-Discrimination Policy

• Grants cannot be used for political campaigns or to influence government decisions.

Approved recipients will be notified in mid-December, and grant award will be announced publicly in mid-January.

The KCF also announces its upcoming Grants Open House, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 23 at its new location, 417 Quincy Street, Unit 305A, (3rd floor) of the former Hancock High School building.

The new office space is designed to better serve the community and enhance KCF operations.
