Hancock names principal
Mollie Trewartha starts Monday

HANCOCK — Hancock Public Schools announced the appointment of Mollie Trewartha as the principal of Hancock Middle and High Schools Monday.
According to a Hancock Schools press release, Threwartha has more than 24 years of experience in education, and is known for her student-centered leadership and collaborative spirit. She previously served as a mathematics teacher and MTSS Coordinator in the Houghton-Portage Township School District.
“I’m excited to partner with students, staff, and families to continue the tradition of Bulldog pride,” said Trewartha. “Together, we can create a thriving school environment where every
student feels seen, supported, and challenged.”
Trewartha holds a master’s and specialist degrees in educational administration from Northern Michigan University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership from Central Michigan University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mollie to the Hancock School District,” said Hancock Superindent Chris Salani. “Her proven track record of being an exceptional educator, her commitment to professional growth as an educational leader, and dedication to student success makes her an outstanding addition to our team.”
The new principal will be available for a meet-and-greet during Middle School Sneak Peek & High School packet pick up event, that will give students, families, and community members the
opportunity to welcome Mollie to the Bulldog Family.
