Cyclist struck by vehicle in Houghton
HOUGHTON — The Houghton Police Department is investigating a personal injury accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon. According to a press release, the accident happened at about 1:50 p.m. Tusday on Townsen Drive/US 41. Police said a bicyclist traveling on the sidewalk was struck by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man from Minnesota.
The cyclist was taken by Mercy Ambulance to UP Health System-Portage for medical treatment.
Michigan Tech’s Department of Public Safety & Police Services and the Michigan Tech First Responders assisted City Police at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
