Garden Giveaway
HOUGHTON-In honor of Houghton’s effort to become the first Bird City in the Upper Peninsula, the Wild Ones Keweenaw Chapter is giving away a limited number of free native plant gardens.
Houghton residents will have an advantage, but all Keweenaw gardeners are welcome to apply. Winning gardens will be installed in front yards or boulevard strips between the sidewalk and street, so everyone can appreciate their beauty and value to birds and other wildlife.
For more information and to apply, visit keweenaw.wildones.org. Apply before May 15.
